STANDARDS
The Standards Committee of the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival will review exhibits during the Festival for compatibility with slides presented to the jurying process. All artwork exhibited must be consistent with that originally submitted for jurying, and must also meet the eligibility requirements stated in your application information package (see "Application Information"). Any work that differs from that shown in the slides must clearly be an outgrowth or evolution of the juried work, and of the same quality. All items exhibited, in whatever price range, must be of consistent quality.
  Application regulations and restrictions
  • No work by apprentices or employees will be accepted.
  • No commercial agents, dealers or manufacturers may enter.
  • No kits, music cassettes, commercial molds, tumbled stones, embellished objects, ivory, edible art, plants, flowers, T-Shirts, manufactured clothing, or any other manufactured items may be submitted.
  • Commercial s of your work are NOT acceptable for sale unless they are categorized as noted below in the giclee section.
    • This includes commercially published books, posters or cards taken from photographs, drawings, prints or paintings.
  • New Giclee Policy: The sale of LIMITED editions of high quality 'giclee' reproductions of original art available for sale in the categories of Painting, Graphics and Prints, will be accepted when following these guidelines:
    • Reproductions on archival paper or canvas, clearly listed / labeled as reproductions may be displayed IN BINS ONLY, mounted, matted or framed. This policy excludes color Xerox and reworked , hand colored reproductions.
  • Three-dimensional work which has been produced by anyone other than the artist applying is not acceptable.
  • The proportion of works shown should reflect that shown in the slides presented for jurying. That is, if four slides show major pieces, and one shows samples of pieces from a lower price range, the artist's display should show predominantly major pieces.
  • You must be present at your booth for the full two days of the Festival.
  • All exhibited work must be original and produced solely by the applicant. All the work you intend to exhibit must be represented by your slides. (You may apply separately in more than one category, but you must exhibit only in those categories for which you have been juried/accepted.)
  • The Standards Committee reserves the right to remove from the Festival any work it considers unsuitable. If the work you show at the Festival is not representative of your slides, you will be asked to remove that work. Continuing to show and sell unacceptable items will result in disqualification from future Festivals.
