My inquiry investigates how we cultivate who we are by absorbing and experiencing our surroundings. By depicting different influences that challenge adolescence surroundings such as; self absorption, peer judgments, social media, past worries surfacing and forming our sense of self that we internalize for good and bad. I utilized choices of darker tones to contrast with bright colors, to represent vibrancy of life, and colors to depict the feel of the situation at hand. Hands are represented throughout the pieces to convey how many hands of others have shaped and molded our lives & decisions.
Art has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I don't plan on giving it up. I grew up on art in many different forms: drawing, painting, and even playing instruments. It has had one of the largest influences on me and continues to inspire me everyday. Throughout the years, my art has reflected my growth and changing character and I hope to continue my pursuits in my career or as a main side hobby.
